Biolife has launched WoundSeal, the first clinically proven topical powder that stops bleeding instantly, as a new over-the-counter product in Walgreen’s stores in Yuma and Tucson. Arizona is the second state, following Florida, to receive the product.

The topical powder works by creating an instant scab (or seal) when combined with the wound’s own blood, according to Biolife. The instant scab seals the wound and helps prevent infection. The scab remains on the wound until it is healed and then falls off naturally.

The powder works independently of the body’s blood clotting cascade and is safe and effective for all ages, even for those on blood thinners, according to Biolife. The product has passed all FDA-required safety tests.
